Project Overview
Digital Shared Services, a Shared Health service, facilitates the improvement and enablement of healthcare delivery transformation through the use of information and communication technology. The focus is to provide efficient, effective information management and communication technology processes across the provincial health sector.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will lead complex healthcare technology initiatives within a Digital Shared Services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing multiple infrastructure and transformation projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
The role requires extensive experience in healthcare IT transformation, infrastructure modernization, vendor management, security planning, and enterprise system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
- Monitor project performance against approved tolerances and provide regular status reporting to steering committees and executive stakeholders.
- Lead healthcare infrastructure upgrades, legacy system replacement initiatives, and decommissioning activities.
- Coordinate multi-stream IT transformation programs involving multiple vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Support implementation and integration of healthcare applications, including IntelliSpace Cardiovascular (ISCV) systems and electronic patient care record systems.
- Ensure project governance, documentation, issue management, and change control processes are followed.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, workshops, and communication planning across clinical and technical teams.
- Apply industry-recognized project delivery and risk management methodologies including PMP, PRINCE2, and NIST security frameworks.
- Collaborate with information security teams to align projects with cybersecurity standards such as NIST, CIS, and PCI.
- Participate in procurement activities including RFP evaluations, vendor scoring, contract coordination, and implementation oversight.
- Support organizational change management and user adoption activities throughout project lifecycles.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Valid PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner Certification.
Preferred Certifications
- Valid Management of Risk (M_o_R) Certification.
- Valid Prosci Change Management Certification.
Required Skills and Experience
Project Management Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project management roles developing project plans and budgets, monitoring project performance, and reporting to project steering committees.
- Minimum 4 years of project management experience within a healthcare environment.
Infrastructure & Legacy Modernization
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing infrastructure upgrade and legacy replacement initiatives, including system decommissioning activities.
Information Security

Minimum 1 year of experience planning and organizing information security services using internationally recognized security methodologies such as:
- NIST
- CIS Controls
- PCI Security Standards
IT Transformation Programs
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading multi-year organizational IT transformation programs consisting of multiple project streams and vendor management responsibilities.
Healthcare Systems Implementation
- Minimum 2 years of experience implementing IntelliSpace Cardiovascular (ISCV) systems in a healthcare environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience implementing electronic patient care record systems in rural healthcare environments, including RFP scoring and vendor management.
